About the Role:
Trinity IT is seeking a highly motivated Model Based Systems Engineer II to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities across the system or system-of-systems (SoS) lifecycle. This entry-level role is an integral part of our contract supporting the US Navy, and offers an opportunity to work in a cutting-edge digital engineering environment, contributing to the development, analysis, and integration of models that drive innovation and enhance interoperability across disciplines.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance, which requires US citizenship.
Key Responsibilities:

Apply MBSE methodologies to support systems/SoS requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

Ensure system interoperability through consistent and coordinated modeling practices.

Support development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and data products for MBSE activity tracking and decision-making.

Coordinate digital thread-related tasks and help manage information flow between engineering functions.

Promote and help implement a model-based culture within the organization, aligned with digital engineering strategies.

Use model data to support integration with other engineering disciplines, including cybersecurity and configuration management.
- Support the use and evolution of the organization’s digital enterprise infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
- Active SECRET Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations research, or other sciences where the utilization of advanced math skills is required (e.g. business, mathematics, statistics, and probability).

3+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related discipline.

Familiarity with MBSE principles

Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle and modeling standards (e.g., SysML, UML).
- Experience with cross-platform collaborative MBSE/digital environments or equivalent (e.g., MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler, Sparx System Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, System Architect, etc.), which provide tools to design, track, visualize, and analyze all aspects of systems in standard-compliant models and diagrams.
- Knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework/Unified Architecture Framework (DoDAF/UAF).
