About the Role:

Trinity IT is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer I to join our engineering team in support of our contract with the US Navy. In this role, you will assist in developing and evaluating design alternatives, create specifications, and contribute to innovative solutions for structural, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the full lifecycle of product or system development—from concept to production.

This position is contingent on contract award.

This position requires a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and comparing alternative equipment layouts and design concepts.
   

• Support the creation of preliminary design plans, schematics, and specifications.
   

• Review and evaluate design and performance changes during pre-production and production stages.
   

• Analyze structural, mechanical, and hydraulic features in equipment and layout designs.
   

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine and optimize designs.
   

• Research new design approaches and contribute to innovation initiatives.
   

• Ensure that designs comply with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
   

Required Qualifications:

• Active SECRET clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or Industrial Design.
   

• 0–2 years of relevant design or engineering experience (internships and academic projects welcome).
  
   

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
   

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
   

• Attention to detail and a passion for engineering and design.
